The Labtrac Time and Attendance facility is provided through the Touchscreen system.
At the start of their working day technicians can either ‘clock on’ to the system,
or be automatically ‘clocked on’ as part of booking on the first case of the day.
The system keeps a record of the technician’s working time and at the end of the
period the technician simply ‘clock off’ at the Touchscreen.
The system allows the laboratory to set up its own range of ‘productive’ breaks
(e.g. shade taking, internal training course) and ‘non productive’ breaks
(e.g. lunch break, visit to dentist), which the technician will log on
(to pause the clock) and then log off (to continue the clock).
The data collected can be used for importing into payroll systems and for management reporting and analysis.
One benefit of the system is that no additional hardware is required to manage Time Bookings and the technician
can manage both work and time from the same terminal.
